About the role
As a GP in a prison setting, youll play a vital role in improving health outcomes for individuals who may have complex health and social care needs. Your work will help reduce health inequalities and ensure continuity of care in a challenging but rewarding environment. Provide full GP services including consultations, clinical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and referrals.
Conduct cervical screening (smear tests) in accordance with NHS guidelines and ensure appropriate follow-up and referral where necessary.
Manage chronic diseases, acute presentations, and mental health conditions.
Contribute to the management of substance misuse and support detox pathways.
