GP maternity cover - fixed term contract

Sett Valley Medical Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking GP to join our friendly, supportive team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. The role will start in December 2026 for 9 months, with the possibility of extending to 12 months. The post is for 6 sessions per week, working Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, including occasional Wednesday evening surgeries until 8pm. The role involves a mixture of face-to-face and telephone consultations within a well-established multidisciplinary team and the wider High Peak PCN. We benefit from excellent prescribing support through our PCN and in-house pharmacists. Applications are welcomed via NHS Jobs or by CV. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care through a varied and rewarding role that includes: Face-to-face and telephone consultations Management of acute and ongoing patient care, including investigations, results, referrals, and treatment planning Developing personalised care plans in partnership with patients Reviewing and authorising repeat prescriptions Managing clinical correspondence, queries, and other associated administrative work Occasional home visits, supported by our well-established home visiting service and community matrons, meaning home visit requirements are typically minimal
