About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This one-year post is designed for a surgeon who has completed higher surgical training in General Surgery and is seeking advanced specialist experience in Upper GI surgery prior to consultant appointment. The successful candidate will join a high-volume tertiary Upper GI service serving a population of approximately 2.5 million people. The Unit performs 120-140 oesophagogastric cancer resections annually and delivers a comprehensive programme of benign oesophageal surgery, including complex revisional procedures. Based primarily at the Churchill and John Radcliffe Hospitals, the postholder will work closely with a team of experienced Upper GI consultants, gaining extensive exposure to oesophagogastric cancer surgery, advanced minimally invasive techniques, endoscopy, outpatient care and multidisciplinary team working.
