About the role
Applications are invited for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individuals to join our friendly team within the Emergency Department at Colchester Hospital. Opportunities to gain experience in other specialties such as ITU and/or Anesthetics, Paediatrics, Acute Medicine and Trauma and Orthopedics which allows an opportunity for career progression and the possibility to apply for Pathway Portfolio in Emergency Medicine. Pay: 12 PAs (of which 1 SPA/week). The rota offers an excellent work-life balance allowing annual leave spells of up to three weeks. The rota also allows protected weekly teaching sessions and a new journal club is being set up by our FCEM consultants An allocated mentor within Emergency Medicine as well as a clinical supervisor when on secondment will be provided. Local opportunities to become ALS and ATLS instructors, as well as full support from all EM consultants to prepare for FCEM are provided. Colchester ED is a Major Trauma Unit with a helipad in front of the department and has close links with Emergency Department/Major Trauma Centre at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
