About the role
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Anaesthetist from those who are on the Specialty Register or within 6 months of being eligible for entry onto the Register. The post holder will join a team of 29 consultants. The proposed job plan consists of 11 PA including 2 SPA and 1.5 PA for on-call duty. The post will include general anaesthetic sessions and general peri-operative clinics. General anaesthesia at KGH includes; orthopaedics, major general surgical lists, ENT, maxillo-facial, ophthalmology, gynaecology, urology and plastic surgery. This is a post that has arisen due to retirement. The job involves joining an on-call rota to provide cover for theatre emergencies including obstetric theatresJD/PS pending Royal College Approval
There is a weekly job plan associated with this post. The appointee is expected to be flexible in these sessions. The theatre rota will be produced up to 4 weeks in advance using CLW electronic rota system. The exact theatre sessions and anaesthetic subspecialties will be negotiated with successful candidate depending on their areas of interest.
