Rheumatology Consultant

The post will be based at Salford Royal Hospital of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) andavailable on a 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) PAs.

The post offers excellent opportunities for you to develop as a Rheumatology Consultant and contribute to service development to shape the future of the Trust's Rheumatology Service.

The incoming post-holder will be encouraged to develop a special interest.

The service covers a population of around 220,000 people, with over 1 million in-patient and day case admissions, outpatient appointments and community contacts for patients per year.

The successful candidate will join the Rheumatology Directorate at the Trust, staffed by ten Rheumatology consultants, five Rheumatology specialist nurses, a senior clinical fellow, a consultant physiotherapist, an advanced practice AHP, as well as two rotational junior medical staff on the NW Rheumatology rotation and one general medical trainee.

The directorate has five dedicated inpatient beds on a ward shared with dermatology, and good access to day-patient beds. The Rheumatology department actively encourages research, with existing research activity in systemic sclerosis, digital health, metabolic bone disease, musculoskeletal pain, myositis, axial spondyloarthritis and pharmacoepidemiology. The department is a regional centre for connective tissue disease.
