About the role
We are recruiting a General Practitioner (GPs) on a part time basis until end of August 2027 to join our established and developing Primary Care service within the Rotherham Urgent and Emergency Care Centre (UECC). This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a well-supported multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality urgent care within a modern, fully integrated service. The UECC brings together Emergency Department services with Primary Care and GP Out of Hours provision, enabling a coordinated and patient-centred approach to urgent care delivery. GPs within our service work across a 24-hour rota, including evenings, weekends and overnight shifts, as part of a shared and supported rota model.
This is a varied and rewarding clinical role. GPs contribute across key areas of the service including Urgent Primary Care, GP Out of Hours and front-door streaming. You will assess and manage a broad range of undifferentiated presentations, including children, minor illness, injury and appropriate acute conditions. The role requires confident senior clinical decision-making, risk management and the ability to support and supervise other clinicians within the team. You will work alongside ACPs and Emergency Medicine colleagues, providing clinical leadership, supporting patient flow and ensuring safe and timely care delivery. We are looking for GPs who are confident managing undifferentiated patients, demonstrate sound clinical judgement and are able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. The post is available on a part-time basis, with a competitive salary. Allocation of weekend and overnight commitment is done on a pro rata contract. The post includes access to the NHS Pension Scheme, annual leave, study leave and protected CPD time.
