About the role
University Hospitals Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Paediatric Radiology to join our Imaging Department. This is an exciting opportunity to develop paediatric imaging services within one of the UK's largest NHS Trusts whilst contributing significantly to a busy adult general radiology service. The successful candidate will support paediatric inpatient, outpatient and emergency imaging pathways, working closely with paediatricians, neonatologists, paediatric surgeons and safeguarding teams. Responsibilities include neonatal imaging, participation in non-accidental injury (NAI) pathways and multidisciplinary team working. This is not a standalone paediatric radiology post. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute fully to the adult general radiology service and must be competent in acute adult imaging practice. The role includes participation in duty radiologist activities, acute CT and MRI reporting, adult ultrasound, multidisciplinary meetings and the consultant on-call rota.
You will join a friendly, forward-thinking consultant team committed to excellence in patient care, education and service development. We offer: * Modern CT, MRI, ultrasound and fluoroscopy facilities * Dedicated paediatric and neonatal imaging services * Established safeguarding and NAI pathways * A broad acute and tertiary adult imaging practice * Opportunities for teaching, research, leadership and service development * A supportive consultant body and excellent wellbeing initiatives
