About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our friendly, supportive and forward-thinking practice in the heart of Cornwall. Based in Truro, Cornwall's cathedral city, Lander Medical Practice is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while maintaining a strong focus on clinician wellbeing and work-life balance. We are looking for a GP to join our team of 8 partners and 4 salaried GPs, working a negotiable number of sessions, ideally 6 per week. This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly regarded training practice, within a thriving Primary Care Network, supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality general medical services to our practice population, delivering safe, effective and compassionate care. Key responsibilities will include: Undertaking routine GP consultations and clinical assessments. Managing acute and chronic conditions in line with best practice. Participating in practice meetings, clinical discussions and service development activities. Supporting education and training within the practice where appropriate. Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, including pharmacists, physiotherapists, paramedics, community services and Integrated Neighbourhood Teams. Opportunities are available to develop special interests, teaching and research activities.
Lander Medical Practice serves a population of over 20,000 patients and is recognised as one of Cornwall's highest-performing practices, with excellent quality outcomes. We share modern premises with Three Spires Medical Practice, and together form a highly successful Primary Care Network. We benefit from a well-established multidisciplinary workforce, including paramedics, pharmacists, physiotherapists, GP assistants and workflow administrators, helping to reduce administrative burden and support excellent patient care. As a long-standing GP training practice and partner of the University of Exeter Medical School, we are committed to education, professional development and innovation. We offer regular clinical meetings, protected learning time and practice development days, alongside a supportive team culture that values collaboration, continuity of care and clinician wellbeing. Located within easy reach of Cornwall's coastline and countryside, Truro offers an outstanding quality of life alongside excellent transport links and a vibrant cultural community.
