About the role
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Salaried GP (ARRS-funded) to join Shepley Health Centre, a friendly and well-established practice serving approximately 6,800 patients in a beautiful semi-rural setting near Huddersfield. This is a four-session-per-week role, with Monday working being essential. The remaining two sessions will be worked on a second day, which can be agreed with the successful applicant, offering a degree of flexibility to support individual working preferences and work-life balance. The post is initially offered as a fixed-term appointment for six months in line with current ARRS funding arrangements. However, we are hopeful that funding will continue beyond this period and would therefore anticipate the opportunity for the role to be extended. You will become part of a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. We are looking for a GP who enjoys working collaboratively, values continuity of care and is keen to contribute to the ongoing development of the practice. Located approximately 10 miles from the M1 and 12 miles from the M62, Shepley Health Centre combines the benefits of rural practice with excellent transport links across West and South Yorkshire. Whether you are newly qualified or an experienced GP, you will be joining a welcoming practice that values teamwork, innovation and professional development.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality general medical services to our practice population, managing a wide range of acute and chronic conditions through face-to-face, telephone and online consultations. Responsibilities will include assessing, diagnosing and managing patients, prescribing appropriately, reviewing investigations and clinical correspondence, maintaining accurate clinical records and contributing to the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care. The role offers the opportunity to work as part of a highly supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team, including GP Partners, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacy colleagues and Nursing staff. The successful candidate will benefit from close working relationships with experienced clinicians who are readily available for advice, discussion and support. Protected administrative time is built into the working day to support the safe and effective management of clinical correspondence, results and follow-up work. There will also be opportunities to contribute to quality improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of practice services, whilst helping to deliver excellent care to our local community.
