Locum Consultant Physician in Frailty Services

Fixed term for six months pending substantive recruitment.

We are looking for Consultants with a passion for Frailty. The post offers a new challenge with the ability to be involved in designing an integrated Frailty Service, bridging community and secondary care. You must be a capable senior decision maker who will support the rapid assessment of patients including post take ward round for patients, streaming to appropriate pathways and commencement of treatment. There is the possibility of a session of specialty work for those with specialist interests. Applicants wishing to work less than full time or to job share are encouraged to apply.

The Frailty team is a large multi-disciplinary team based in the Frailty Assessment Unit on ward C-16 with in reach into the Emergency Department The team comprises of 1.7 frailty consultants, 1 registrar, 2 lead nurses, 5 clinical nurse specialists and 3 Physicians Associates. The service provides diagnosis, treatment, and facilitates early discharge of frail patients and provides interface with frailty virtual ward (established in November 2022). We have close links with the Integrated Care Board for Cambridge and Peterborough and are there are plans to work with community partners to develop a Community Falls Hub and other community pathways.
