About the role
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established team at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust. We are a very successful department, with twin site working at New Cross Hospital and Cannock Chase Hospital (Trauma and elective sites)The post is for a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialist interest in foot and ankle. We are looking for a consultant who is fellowship trained in foot and ankle surgery to add to the existing complement of consultants. The candidate will provide support in complex foot and ankle trauma as per departmental need. The current on-call rota is a 1:10 rota, with a 7- day working commitment. Applications are welcomed from candidates with FRCS (or equivalent qualification) who are on the General Medical Council's Specialist Register in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery or who will be within 6 months of obtaining their CCT/CESR at the time of interview.
Main duties of the job The post holder will be expected to provide a General Trauma and Orthopaedic Service, with a specialist interest in foot and ankle surgery. A foot and ankle fellowship is essential. An interest in developing ankle replacement service would be desirable. Flexible working will be required to fully utilise hospital facilities such as theatres and outpatients. The post holder will also be expected to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and to participate in audit and clinical governance activities
