About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious surgeon to join the growing Bath Urology team on a 12 month Locum basis. The post holder would become part of a team of Consultant Urological Surgeons that work very well together in a supportive environment. All Consultants contribute to the general urological workload and 2ww service. The Urology Unit is an integrated outpatient facility comprising 6 consulting rooms, quiet room, a new dedicated flexible cystoscopy/minor-ops suite with decontamination facilities, urodynamics room, LATP Biopsy room and staff offices. There is a dedicated urology inpatient theatre in the main theatre block. The unit deals with a broad range of Urological problems. The successful candidate will be part of a busy department offering a comprehensive Urology service delivered by 9 Consultants, two Speciality Trainees from the Severn Deanery, three Clinical Fellows, and three F1/2 doctors. Ward and emergency support is also provided by four designated WTE Urology Nurse Practitioners. The department additionally has six specialist urology nurses and five Uro-oncology CNSs. Candidates should be on or eligible for inclusion onto the GMC Specialist Register for urology, be within 6 months of their expected date of obtaining a CCT (or equivalent) at the time of the interview or be pursuing a future CESR application.
