About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a four-session Salaried GP to join our experienced clinical team. This post is supported by the 2026/27 Practice-level GP Reimbursement Scheme. We are a friendly practice on the outskirts of Sheffield, serving a mixed urban and rural community of over 8,700 patients. We are flexible on working days for the right candidate, although we would particularly welcome applicants who are able to work on Fridays. Each session consists of 12 consultations, comprising a mix of telephone and face-to-face appointments. There is no requirement to contribute to on-calls or duty doctor commitments, and 15-minute consultations can be facilitated on request. We have a multidisciplinary clinical team, including an ANP and paramedic team. Home visits are occasional, with the majority undertaken by our paramedics. GPs contribute to the remaining visits as required. This is a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2027, with the option to extend subject to the national funding continuing into future years. The position is eligible for the NHS Pension Scheme. Salary is dependent on skills and experience, with 6 weeks' annual leave pro rata. Person specification

Essential

Experience of providing safe, evidence-based clinical care in general practice.
Ability to assess and manage undifferentiated presentations across a broad range of clinical conditions.
Ability to work autonomously whilst recognising the limits of own competence and when to seek advice or refer.
Demonstrable ability to prioritise and manage a varied GP workload safely and effectively.
Demonstrable ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with patients, carers, and colleagues.
Ability to maintain accurate, timely, and appropriate clinical records.
Understanding of safe prescribing and medicines management.
Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities relating to children and adults at risk.
Understanding of confidentiality, consent, and information governance requirements.
Commitment to providing continuity of care and contributing to the ongoing management of patients with long-term conditions.
GMC registration with a current licence to practise.
Holds CCT in General Practice or equivalent recognised qualification.
MRCGP or equivalent.
Eligible for inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List.
Able and willing to undertake home visits as required by the practice.
Able to travel independently to undertake home visits, where required.
Experience of working in UK general practice.
Commitment to patient-centred care and shared decision-making.
Demonstrable ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Reliable, professional and conscientious approach to work.
Evidence of maintaining professional development, reflective practice, and professional competence.

Desirable

Full UK driving licence and access to suitable transport for undertaking home visits.
Experience of working within a GMS/PMS practice.
Experience of using SystmOne or another electronic clinical record system.
Experience of QOF and/or enhanced services.
Experience of clinical audit, quality improvement or service development.
Experience of teaching or supervising medical students, GP trainees or other healthcare professionals.
