About the role
This is a 10 PA locum appointment for a Consultant in General Internal Medicine (GIM). This post will be available for a period of 6 months and will be based at St Jamess University Hospital.
The postholder will predominantly help to provide cover for younger adult in-patients admitted with a range of acute and acute-on-chronic general medical conditions. There will also be opportunities to contribute to our admissions wards, including supporting our Elderly Medicine department, as well as service development. The successful applicant should hold accreditation in GIM through the Royal College of Physicians or an equivalent qualification. They should also be on the Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees currently in a training programme within the UK or have references which have been authorised by the Deputy Medical Director and Clinical Director.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our enthusiastic clinical team within the Department of GIM at the Trust to help to deliver high-quality patient-centred care over the busy winter period. Our service is currently expanding, and we expect to make several substantive appointments in 2027.
