About the role
PENDING RC APPROVAL The neurology department will be appointing a Neurology Consultants due to the current post holder retiring over the next year therefore, applications are invited for consultant neurologist with a special interest in Movement Disorders or Epilepsy (other sub specialities will be considered). The Movement Disorder (MD) service at UHCW NHS Trust is led by four consultants and has developed an excellent reputation for early uptake of new PD treatments, offering subcutaneous foslevodopa-fascarbidopa and other devise-aided treatments. There are two hospital-based Parkinson's nurse specialists based at UHCW with six community Parkinson's nurse specialists covering Coventry and Warwickshire. The team also comprises a senior clinical fellow in Movement Disorders. From a research perspective, UHCW is a Tier 3 site for the Edmond J Safra Accelerating Clinical Trials in Parkinson's Disease. A dedicated Parkinson's research nurse has recently been appointed.
