SPECIALTY DOCTOR IN WEST ENHANCED TEAM KENDRAY HOSPITAL, DONCASTER ROAD, BARNSLEY S70 3RD Fixed Term (12 months), full time, 10 Programmed Activities per week Out of hours On Call participation may be required (2 PA + 5%) South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are recruiting for a Specialty Doctor to join the West Enhanced Team based at Kendray Hospital, Doncaster Road, Barnsley S70 3RD. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will be an integral role within the West Enhanced Team.

Person specification

Essential

Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.
Participate in continuous professional development.
Participate in research or service evaluation.
Able to use and appraise clinical evidence.
Has actively participated in clinical audit.
MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
Spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate medical experience in the UK or equivalent medical experience.
At least 2 years experience in psychiatry.
At least 6-month experience in adult psychiatry.
Excellent knowledge in specialty.
Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
Able to provide clinical leadership to a multi-professional team and liaise with a wide variety of agencies.
Demonstrate emotional intelligence and leadership skills.
Able to work flexibly and efficiently prioritise conflicting demands.
Able to effectively manage time and resources within a team.
Able to use electronic records.
Commitment to annual appraisal and revalidation
Engage in Trust Occupational Health initiatives and act in a manner to protect the Health & Safety of patients and staff. For example, having the flu jab (unless medically contraindicated).
Ability to undertake the duties and demands of the post.
A satisfactory sickness record over the previous 2 years (subject to the need to act with fairness and equality of opportunity, particularly where the sickness is related to a disability and/or pregnancy).
Smart professional appearance.

Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post.
Reflect on purpose of CPD undertaken.
Experience in clinical research and / or service evaluation.
