About the role
The Heart, Lung and Critical Care Clinical Group at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) is looking to appoint a substantive consultant cardiac electrophysiologist with a special interest in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD). This is a replacement post to maintain deliver of electrophysiology and cardiac electronic device implantation as well as to support the growth and development of a cross site clinical and academic programme focused on the management of cardiac arrhythmias in adults with congenital heart disease. The post-holder will be a fully trained and independent consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist. The individual will be able to perform outpatient clinics independently, run catheter laboratory electrophysiology intervention and device lists for investigation and treatment of patients with cardiac arrhythmias as well as participate in the Consultant of the Week and Arrhythmia on-call rotas. The successful candidate will support the catheter laboratories and wards by supervising the resident specialist trainees and clinical fellows in the day-to-day delivery of care. The post will involve close working with the Arrhythmia Clinical Nurse Specialists to prepare patients for their procedures and to coordinate inter-hospital transfers for treatment.
