About the role
University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a dedicated Head and Neck/ENT Surgeon to join the department on a 10 PA job plan. This replacement post is open to candidates with subspecialty training in Head and Neck Surgery who can complement and enhance the existing expertise within the department. The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting the Head and Neck Unit, including the management of urgent cancer referrals to ensure national targets are achieved. Applicants should have fellowship training in major Head and Neck Surgery, including thyroid and complex airway surgery, and ideally possess consultant-level experience in these areas. The role includes commitments to outpatient clinics, theatre sessions and on-call duties, with dedicated time allocated for administration and supporting professional activities. The appointee will be expected to contribute actively to clinical governance, teaching and audit, supporting the department's commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality patient care. Access to a car is essential for on-call responsibilities.
