Neonates Junior Clinical Fellow

This is a replacement post and an ideal opportunity for a suitably qualified individual looking to develop skills within a busy Local Neonatal Unit. The position will also allow the candidate to continue to meet their training and education objectives within their clinical responsibilities.

The post holder would participate in the junior resident Neonatal roster.

All junior residents work either a full or partial shift system.

There are 3 groups of Specialist Trainees working in either Neonatal unit, Paediatric ED or on the Paediatric wards.

Six Specialist Trainee Registrar’s and nine Specialist Trainees work on the Neonatal Unit. No overlapping duties.

Six Specialist Trainee Registrar’s work for the general paediatric unit including PED.

Up to three Specialist Trainee Registrar’s work in community training posts with on call in the hospital.

The Neonatal Unit is designated as an LNU (Level 2) and has capacity of 23 cots with 19 of these funded currently. The workload is very varied, incorporating the management of very low birth weight babies.
