Locum Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedics

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to recruit a Locum Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics. Successful candidates will join a team of 10 Surgeons. The post will have a special interest and experience in knee arthroplasty surgery. The Directorate provides services across 3 hospital sites within the county of Worcestershire. The candidate will benefit from working within a friendly and experienced team of 26. As a Trust we have been actively involved in developing the training program for students from the Three Counties Medical School based in Worcester which opened in September 2023. We also have a long-established role in training medical students from the University of Birmingham and undergraduates from the University of Warwick. This is a replacement post for a Consultant in Knee and Lower Limb Reconstruction. The successful applicant will provide elective knee clinics at Alexandra Hospital Redditch. They will undertake a regular knee operating list at Alexandra hospital, with access to dual consultant operating and support for complex/revision cases where required. A regular day-case arthroscopy/soft-tissue knee list will run at the KTC site. The post holder will contribute to the trauma rota and support the delivery of lower limb trauma surgery. They will also participate in MDT working including knee MDT and complex case discussions.
