GP Trainer / Supervising GP Quarry Bank Medical Centre Dudley Up to 8 Sessions per Week | Salary Negotiable Depending on Experience Quarry Bank Medical Centre is seeking an experienced and accredited GP Trainer to join our clinical team in a role combining hands-on patient care with supervision of GP Specialty Trainees (ST) and Foundation Year (FY) doctors. The Role The successful candidate will:

Essential

Demonstrates a strong commitment to high-quality, patient-centred general practice, delivered in accordance with current clinical guidance and professional standards.
Ability to provide safe and effective clinical supervision while maintaining oversight of trainee clinical activity and patient safety.
Excellent communication and teaching skills, with the ability to support the professional development of GP trainees and Foundation Year doctors.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage clinical workload alongside educational responsibilities.
Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and commitment to the principles outlined in Good Medical Practice issued by the General Medical Council.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary primary care team and contribute to collaborative clinical decision-making.
Commitment to clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement activity within the practice.
Competence and confidence working within modern digital clinical systems and electronic patient records.
Primary medical qualification recognised by the General Medical Council (GMC) (e.g. MBBS, MBChB or equivalent).
Full registration with a licence to practise with the General Medical Council.
Inclusion on the NHS Performers List for General Practice.
Successful completion of specialist training in General Practice and entry on the General Medical Council GP Register.
Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) or equivalent recognised qualification.
Accredited GP Trainer status, approved through the relevant postgraduate deanery.
Evidence of participation in continuing professional development (CPD) consistent with GMC revalidation requirements.
Appropriate professional indemnity cover for general practice and supervision responsibilities.
Substantial experience working as a General Practitioner within UK primary care.
Minimum of 23 years experience as an accredited GP Trainer, with active involvement in supervising GP Specialty Trainees and/or Foundation Year doctors within a recognised training practice.
Demonstrable experience providing structured educational supervision, including teaching sessions, case-based discussion, and reflective learning with trainees.
Experience of supporting trainee assessment processes, including workplace-based assessments and feedback aligned with postgraduate training requirements.
Evidence of maintaining safe clinical supervision and oversight of trainee clinical activity, ensuring patient safety and adherence to professional standards.
Experience participating in clinical governance processes, including audit, significant event review, and quality improvement activity.
Experience working within multidisciplinary teams in primary care, collaborating with nurses, advanced practitioners, pharmacists and allied professionals.
Demonstrable experience managing a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions within general practice.

Desirable

The practice particularly values clinicians who are able to provide enhanced procedural or specialist skills that strengthen care delivery within primary care settings.
These may include:
Minor surgery and procedural dermatology performed within primary care.
Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) services including fitting and removal of implants and intrauterine devices.
Community-based musculoskeletal assessment and joint injections.
Dermatology assessment and minor procedures.
Womens health services, including contraceptive care and menopause management.
Expertise in cardiometabolic disease management, including diabetes and cardiovascular risk reduction.
