About the role
This is a new permanent post to allow extended consultant SDEC cover until 21:30, as well as developing a local CEW (complications of excess weight) service. Experience in management of obesity, adolescent medicine and service development would be valuable. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and enthusiastic team who believe in leading from the frontline with the aim of providing outstanding care to our community and investing in the well-being and development of our people. There is a combined Department of Paediatrics and Child Health within the Acute Trust resulting in improved liaison and integration in the care of patients and the training of junior doctors. Paediatric in-patient services and neonatal services are provided at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. The children's wards, paediatric observation unit, and outpatient clinic opened in 2002, and are sited centrally within the Hospital. The neonatal unit was refurbished in 2014 and is situated in the maternity block. The Dingley Child Development Centre is currently located at Erlegh House, University of Reading. The simulation date is 18th August 2026 and the Interview date is 21st August 2026.
