About the role
The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH) has a rare and exciting opportunity within our Bone and Soft Tissue Tumour service to appoint a full-time Locum Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon on a six month contract. The RNOH Bone and Soft Tissue Tumour Service and UCLH comprise the London Sarcoma Service (LSS), providing sarcoma care to a population of over 20 million and regarded as the largest such service in Europe. The successful applicant will work collaboratively within the LSS multidisciplinary team to provide highly specialised surgical care to patients of all ages with musculoskeletal tumours, including primary and metastatic bone tumours and soft tissue sarcomas. There may be an opportunity to pursue primary and revision arthroplasty. In addition, the successful applicant will undertake audit and quality improvement work to develop the service. There are opportunities to develop research and teaching initiatives with UCL and other academic partners. We are looking for applicants who have relevant experience including relevant Fellowship training, good communication and team working skills and experience in multidisciplinary team working. A successful applicant will be enthusiastic and able to contribute to the further development of the service. You must be fully registered with the GMC/GDC and hold a full License to Practice and be on the specialist register, or within six months of attaining CCT or equivalent at interview stage. Start date for this post will be Sept/Oct 2026.
