Consultant Histopathologist

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Consultant Histopathologist at 10 PAs, to join our team of high performing and productive consultants.

Candidates should have Full GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and be on the Histopathology Specialist Register or within 6 months of attaining their CCT or have submitted CESR/Portfolio Pathway.

Prospective candidates should hold the FRCPath or equivalent higher professional qualification.

Interested candidates will hopefully develop subspecialty interest(s) in line with departmental need, and become a core member of two to three cancer MDTs.

The Cellular Pathology Department is based on the site of Royal Derby Hospital. This is a very busy UKAS accredited department with an interesting, varied and growing workload, covering most specialities except medical renal biopsies, neuropathology and paediatric/neonatal pathology.

Provision of comprehensive Cellular Pathology service to the users, including advice regarding appropriate specimen collection and investigations, interpretation of reports and the preparation of policies, procedures and guidelines. Review and validation of laboratory reports. Answer phone calls to and from clinical colleagues.
