About the role
The post provides an exciting and unique opportunity to work within urogynaecology/female urology and learn specialist skills in managing patients with chronic and recurrent urinary tract infections (UTI). The LUTS service is a tertiary clinical service and research centre that manages patients with chronic LUTS and is closely associated with translational research. The Urogynaecology and LUTS subspecialties fall under the Women's Health Department within the Acute Patient Access, Clinical Support Services, and Women's Health Division (ACW). We are expanding our department and integrating Urogynaecology and LUTS where appropriate. Our division is supported by the Clinical Director, Director of Operations and Gynaecology Lead Consultant. Post holders will be supported by the LUTS and Gynaecology administrative teams. Please note, this post may close earlier if we receive a sufficient number of applications.
The post holder will see patients with chronic lower urinary tract symptoms and continence related problems. The job will consist of specialist LUTS clinics, urogynaecology clinics, urogynaecology operating and urodynamics. If the post holder wishes there are opportunities to be involved with translational research within this tertiary service.
Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
