Locum Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon - Darent Valley Hospital We are seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons to join our dynamic and expanding Orthopaedic Department at Darent Valley Hospital. The successful candidates will work alongside a well-established team of 12 substantive Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons and participate in a 1:8 on-call week commitments and 1:12 on- call weekend commitments. These posts offer the opportunity to develop a specialist interest while providing comprehensive orthopaedic services across both Darent Valley Hospital and Queen Mary's Hospital. The role will include: Fracture clinic commitments Trauma surgery duties Elective and outpatient clinic activity Cross-site working between Darent Valley Hospital and Queen Mary's Hospital Participation in the consultant on-call rota
This is a new Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon (LOCUM) post to support the increasing workload in the department and sub-specialisation in foot and ankle. The successful candidate must be on the Specialist Registrar with the GMC or be within six months of obtaining CCST. We offer a comprehensive range of treatment both on the elective and the trauma side for our local and expanding population. The orthopaedic department enjoys a close relationship with our surgical and medical colleagues, a particular feature is the active review of orthopaedic admissions by our Elderly Care Physician on a daily basis. The Directorate works closely in conjunction with the Trust Accident & Emergency department to review complicated fractures and provide advice when required. On call consultants are expected to conduct post take ward rounds during the weekend to support the junior doctors on call team.
