Consultant Dermatologist

Job PurposeThe Consultant Dermatologist will provide clinical leadership and specialist dermatology services within a Consultant-led Community Dermatology Service. The post holder will assess, diagnose, treat and manage adult patients with a wide range of dermatological conditions, delivering high-quality care in accordance with NICE guidance, British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) standards, NHS constitutional requirements and locally commissioned service specifications. The post holder will provide expert clinical oversight for multidisciplinary staff, support referral triage and Advice & Guidance services, undertake dermatological procedures, contribute to service development and ensure patients receive timely, safe and effective care closer to home. The service is required to be Consultant-led with a named Consultant Dermatologist responsible for clinical governance and service oversight.

Clinical ResponsibilitiesThe post holder will: Deliver consultant-led outpatient dermatology clinics for adults aged 18 years and over. Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of dermatological conditions. Deliver one-stop assessment and treatment wherever clinically appropriate. Manage patients with conditions including:Eczema Psoriasis Dermatitis Acne Lichen planus Urticaria Fungal infections Hair, scalp and nail disorders Genital dermatology Premalignant skin lesions Low-risk basal cell carcinomas in accordance with NICE guidance.
