About the role
Dudley Wood Surgery is seeking an experienced General Practitioner to join our friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking practice for 4 sessions per week. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and patient-centred GP to become part of a well-established multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality care to our local community. We are looking for a clinician who is confident managing a broad range of acute and chronic conditions and who enjoys working collaboratively to improve patient outcomes and practice services. As a practice, we are committed to innovation, improving access, and developing sustainable models of care. We operate a total triage system and have a strong team culture where ideas are welcomed, professional development is encouraged, and staff wellbeing is valued. The successful candidate will play an important role in providing excellent clinical care while contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives. This position would suit an experienced GP seeking a supportive environment where they can make a meaningful impact on both patients and the future direction of the practice.
Provide high-quality, patient-centred care through face-to-face, telephone, and remote consultations. Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute, chronic, and complex medical conditions. Prescribe safely and effectively in line with current clinical guidelines and best practice. Undertake medication reviews and manage repeat prescribing requests. Review and action pathology results, clinical correspondence, and investigations. Make appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services. Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive patient records. Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, including nurses, pharmacists, healthcare assistants, and administrative staff. Participate in clinical meetings, significant event reviews, and governance activities. Attend mandatory practice clinical meetings (CPT meetings) as part of clinical governance and team working. Contribute to quality improvement projects, audits, and service development initiatives. Support the delivery of enhanced services and practice objectives. Engage in continuing professional development (CPD), appraisal, and revalidation requirements. Support undergraduate teaching and supervision of medical students, or be willing to undertake GP trainer training to develop into a recognised GP trainer role. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of patient access, safety, and quality of care across the practice.
