About the role

This is a permanent, full-time Specialty Doctor post based across the three Sexual Health Hounslow sites: Twickenham House at West Middlesex University Hospital, Heart of Hounslow, and Feltham Centre for Health. The role is ideally suited to a doctor with extensive NHS experience and a minimum of two years' experience in sexual health and contraception services. The post offers the opportunity to work within one of the largest and busiest Sexual Health and HIV services in Europe, managed by Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide high-quality sexual and reproductive healthcare, including the delivery of contraception and Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC), while also gaining exposure to highly specialised services . We are particularly keen to recruit a doctor with a strong grounding in sexual health, contraception, LARC and GUM, who can become a senior and experienced member of the team. The successful candidate will work closely within a multidisciplinary team and be encouraged to participate in service development, clinical audit, research, quality improvement initiatives, and the teaching and supervision of medical students and other healthcare professionals. Sexual Health Hounslow has a strong reputation for training and supports doctors in developing specialist skills and becoming accredited trainers with the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (CSRH).

The Specialty Doctor will provide high-quality clinical care within Sexual Health and Contraception services, delivering a broad range of sexual and reproductive healthcare across multiple clinical settings. The post holder will be responsible for assessing, treating and managing patients in accordance with current evidence-based practice, local protocols and national guidelines, while ensuring care is delivered in a sensitive, non-judgemental and confidential manner. The role includes contributing to the development, delivery and monitoring of clinical services to meet patient needs, maintaining and developing professional knowledge and clinical skills, and supporting the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care. The post holder will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, providing expert clinical input and supporting the ongoing development of the Sexual Health Service. They will participate in service meetings, clinical governance activities, audit, quality improvement initiatives and service development projects, helping to ensure that clinical standards, protocols and pathways remain current and effective. The post holder will be encouraged to share clinical expertise, support workforce development and strengthen collaborative working with primary care, social services and other partner organisations to enhance patient care and service delivery.

Considerable years of full-time Foundation training (or its equivalent).
Two year + Postgraduate Experience in GUM
Resuscitation training
Appropriate clinical and technical skills and abilities. Willingness to learn and use Hospital Information Support System (HISS)
Knowledge of Clinical Governance
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with patients and all staff appropriately
Evidence of enthusiasm
