Locum Consultant in Acute Medicine

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic Locum Consultant to join the Acute Medicine Department at University Hospitals of Derby & Burton NHS Foundation Trust. The post will be based at Queens Hospital, Burton on Trent.

This is a fixed term Consultant post, for 2 years only, to cover a career break.

The Acute Medicine Business Unit is proud to offer high quality clinical care within flexible and sustainable job plan structures. A number of our team operate in this way, delivering DCC in other medical specialties, including Stroke, Medicine and Cardiology.    Our vision is ‘to be a pinnacle for best practice and patient care across our emergency and urgent care pathways. We will integrate our services with the wider urgent care network to ensure patients receive the best care possible at the right time and in the right place'.     Our aim is to provide senior clinical decisions on patient care from the moment of arrival to discharge, with the minimum of unavoidable delay. We take pride in excellent patient care and that is why we are consistently scoring in high percentile for last three years running with SAMs audit.   Further details of Roles and Responsibilities whilst fulfilling AMU shifts, Standard Operating Procedures for AMU handover and Unit Operational Standards will be reviewed during Induction with the team for the successful candidate.
