Salaried GP

We are a busy GP practice with a patient list size of approx. 5600 patients and growing.

We are a friendly and supportive practice of 3 GPs, 2 practice nurses, 1 HCA and a team of pharmacists, in addition to a multi-skilled reception/admin team that offer our patients a range of support.

The post holder will be expected to undertake the usual duties associated with a GP working in primary care. In accordance with the Practice consulting schedule, the post-holder will undertake a variety of duties including F2F and telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, checking/signing prescriptions, test results, medical reports and examinations and letters on behalf of the practice. Making professional decisions in relation to presenting problems, either self-referred or referred from other health care workers. Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. Cover all clinical management of the patients in the surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results and making referrals to secondary care or to other appropriate providers. Develop treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols as well as wider guidance such as that from NICE. Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards and follow up when appropriate. Making referrals to other health care providers in line with national and local guidelines and pathways. Prescribing in accordance with locally/national agreed guidelines. Work with other members of the primary health care team in delivering high quality primary care. Play a role in the practice achieving agreed QOF and other key performance.
