About the role
University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB) NHS Foundation Trust currently has an opening for a full time substantive consultant plastic surgeon to join our skin oncology and Ortho Plastic Extremity Trauma (OPET) Multidisciplinary team. UHB Plastic Surgery department is one of the UK's largest skin oncology and lower limb trauma services covering a large area of the West Midlands for both services. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in working in an MDT setting-with experience in skin oncology-with independent operating capabilities offering all aspects of skin oncology, including Sentinel lymph node biopsy, Groin and axillary lymph node dissections and electrochemotherapy. In terms of OPET-we are looking for individuals who can provide acute lower limb trauma reconstructions during on calls and provide an elective orthoplastic reconstruction service on a pro rota basis as part of the UHB OPET team. They must be capable of offering microsurgical free tissue transfer for both groups of patients. The post holder will work as a member of a team of Consultant Plastic Surgeons, based at the University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust with and have commitments in Burton Hospital as part of the service level agreement.
