About the role
This is a new innovative 10 PA split post between South Durham (North and South Dales) Community Adult Mental Health Treatment and Intervention Team and the ADHD clinic. The post provides excellent opportunity for experience in both community and ADHD team. South Durham (North and South Dales) Community Adult Mental Health Treatment and Intervention team is based at The Goodall Centre, Bishop Auckland. The Team provides secondary mental health service input for all mental health conditions for working age adult population. The team receives referrals mostly from GP surgeries and other sources such as Crisis team, Liaison Psychiatry and the wards. The team provides specialist support to patients with significant mental health difficulties such as mood disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorder and adult neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and Autism. The Crisis Team manages access to inpatient services. The post-holder will develop effective working relationships with members of the Crisis Team and Inpatient Teams by closely liaising with these services when patients are referred to the crisis team or needing alternative to hospital beds and will be managed by the Crisis Team. Patients who need to be in hospital will be managed by the inpatient team. The post holder will join a dedicated multidisciplinary team and contribute to compassionate and evidence-based patient care and service improvement.
