Consultant - Neurology YC72

We are seeking an exceptional and highly skilled Headache Consultant in Neurology to spearhead the development of headache services in West Herts, with a primary focus on the management of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) monoclonal antibody therapy for patients with complex headache disorders. This role will be instrumental in providing specialised care for patients with chronic migraines and other complex headache conditions who have otherwise had to seek management outside the region. The consultant will work one day per week, delivering high-quality, evidence-based treatments, particularly for patients who are candidates for CGRP therapy. The consultant will also oversee and guide junior clinicians and GPs with Special Interest (GPwSI) in headache management, ensuring timely and effective patient care in line with the established 18-week treatment pathway. The post is offered on a substantive, part-time basis, (1.5PAs) with programmed activities to be agreed in line with service requirements. Core hours for the role are Monday to Friday, with shifts typically between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Weekend working may be required on a rota basis. Full details will be discussed at the interview.
