About the role
Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Cardiology starting in December 2026, based at St George's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in the newly created Cardiology Clinical Academic Group. These positions are in addition to current deanery posts and will be for one year maternity leave cover. These posts are suitable for doctors ST3-4 level (or equivalent) upwards, who wish to enhance their experience in Cardiology
The candidate will form part of a team of 12 cardiology doctors responsible for the care of in-patients within the cardiology unit, ideally working a full shift system (1 in 12). The candidate will receive ongoing training and exposure in echocardiography, coronary angiography and pacing (according to experience and need). Continued cardiological education is maintained by weekly coronary intervention, electrophysiology and heart failure/Cardiac MRI meetings. Participation in clinical audit is essential and there will be the opportunity to perform a service improvement project.
