Consultant in Colorectal Surgery

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust wishes to appoint an enthusiasticConsultant in Colorectal Surgeryto join our General Surgical department to help provide a high-quality surgical service to the population of Wigan Borough.

The appointee is expected to contribute to the delivery of the colorectal service at WWL Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, undertaking specialist colorectal OPD clinics, elective colorectal theatre lists, lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, and participation in one or both of the Colorectal Cancer and Inflammatory Bowel Disease MDTs. The NBOCA reports in 2024 recorded between more than 180 colorectal cancers reported by the trust and all our Colorectal Surgeons meet the ACPGBI requirement of minimum 20 curative cancer resections per year.
