About the role
The successful candidate will join a team of four Consultant Breast Radiologists and two Consultant Radiographers who provide a comprehensive breast imaging service including both screening and symptomatic across the region. The post includes supervision and training of specialist registrars and advanced practioners. The post is intended to provide 7.5 sessions of breast imaging with an additional commitment to cross-sectional CT reporting. There will be provision of standard 1.5 SPA. Additional training in breast screening can be provided if necessary. This post could be tailored to suit a locum or less than full time role. If the appointee is not a UK CCT holder, they will be expected to work towards CCT in clinical radiology via the CESR route within an agreed period. Progress towards this goal will be reviewed regularly.
This post attracts 10-programmed activities per week. The indicative PAs are outlined below and will be reviewed once in post and job plan is finalised. Initial job plan meeting will be held as soon as the appointee joins NHS HHP and will be reviewed within the first 12 months. Regular job planning meetings will be undertaken with the post holder to ensure that the appointee is remunerated for any additional activities undertaken and that the job plan accurately reflects the overall workload undertaken by the post holder. The core supporting professional activities (1.5 SPA) is for revalidation purposes and the anticipated involvement in quality improvement, audit, teaching and research. Study leave and professional leave are taken over and above the SPA allocation. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will take up other teaching/administrative/managerial posts for further SPAs. In line with the terms and conditions, the final job plan is subject to the agreement of the Trust through the Clinical Leader and the appointee.
