About the role
Join the expanding Trauma & Orthopaedics team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant specialising in Knee Surgery. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of one of the UK most ambitious and rapidly developing orthopaedic departments, with a growing regional and national reputation for innovation, quality improvement and clinical excellence. Based across Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals, the service combines high-volume elective practice with exposure to a major trauma centre and one of the busiest orthopaedic services in England. The successful candidate will join a friendly, cohesive and forward-thinking consultant team with opportunities to further develop specialist soft tissue knee surgery services alongside a secondary interest in lower limb arthroplasty. Solihull Hospital has recently expanded into a dedicated GIRFT-accredited surgical hub with three elective orthopaedic theatres and a successful day-case arthroplasty programme, while Heartlands Hospital hosts Europe largest fragility fracture service and a busy ambulatory knee injury pathway. This post offers excellent opportunities to contribute to teaching, research and service development within a University Teaching Hospital environment, working closely with the University of Birmingham and regional training programmes.
