About the role
Substantive Consultant in Orthodontics Applications are invited for the above post to join our orthodontic team part-time. There is also a full-time opportunity, upon discussion at interview. The successful candidate will join the existing team comprising of 2 consultant orthodontists, an orthodontic therapist, 2 restorative consultants and 5 maxillofacial consultants. University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is one of the largest and busiest teaching hospitals in England, being made up of three hospitals after joining together in 2000; The General, The Glenfield and the Royal Infirmary. UHL employees over 10,000 staff to treat a diverse population of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland which is a growing population of nearly one million, as well as the neighbouring cities populations of two to three million. Applications must already be on the GDC specialist register or be eligible for a completion of Post-CCST within 6 months of the interview.
Key Tasks Clinical sessions as laid out in the job plan Supervise and train junior medical staff/dental staff Teaching, research, audit and administration Participate in cleft, restorative and orthognathic and oral surgery MDTs Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients. To share with colleagues responsibility for the day-to-day management of patients. To promote new ways of working and co-ordinating care for patients in the community and to ensure that services are based on effective and integrated partnerships across the health community. To proactively develop the service. To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
