An opportunity has arisen due to retirement and expansion of services for three Consultant Anaesthetists to join the team at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals. The role involves delivering adult and paediatric general anaesthesia at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals

The successful candidate will have a CCT in Anaesthesia

The on call commitment is one in 16 weekdays, and one in 16 weekends covering out of hours emergencies

Barnet Hospital is an acute hospital with all emergency services including ENT, Gen surgery, trauma , orthopaedics, Max Fax , paediatrics , obstetrics, gynae and urology. There are seven operating theatres , interventional cardiology suite and two intensive care units. Chase Farm is an elective hub with eight operating theatres covering all elective specialties.

Person specification

Essential

Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values
Full GMC registration with a license to practice
MB BS or equivalent
On GMC Specialist Register via CCT in Anaesthesia (proposed CCT date must be within six months of interview
CESR or European Community Right.
FRCA or equivalent
Training and education of undergraduate and postgraduate students including an understanding of recent changes in the training of Anaesthetic Doctors
Strong teaching skills and experience
Understanding of clinical governance and audit procedures
Ability to work within a multi -disciplinary team
Motivated, flexible and enthusiastic
Reconfiguration of services or clinical innovation

Desirable

*MD or PhD
*Outstanding research record
Possession of ATLS
Possession of ALS/EPLS/APLS certificates.
Instructor ALS/ EPLS/APLS certificates
Course in Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching.
Training the Trainers course.
