An opportunity has arisen, due to a longstanding consultant colleague retiring, for a motivated and enthusiastic CAMHS consultant psychiatrist to join the consultant group in Lambeth CAMHS, for 6 months in the first instance, to provide dynamic clinical expertise and leadership to our integrated neurodevelopmental pathway. This would be the ideal opportunity to work alongside the dedicated and passionate team of medics here in Lambeth CAMHS.
Further substantive recruitment is planned, so this would also represent a chance to get to know the borough and team.
The post holder will be based within the Neurodevelopmental Pathway and River Team for 10PAs per week, on the basis of mutual agreement.
In addition to this post, there are five consultant child and adolescent psychiatrists in Lambeth CAMHS (a total of 4.5 WTE), providing local opportunities for significant peer support and consultation. We have specialist interests in neurodevelopmental disorders, ADHD, forensic CAMHS and crisis care.

This post includes 7.5PAs of direct clinical activity with the neurodevelopmental pathway within Lambeth CAMHS, including time spent in the ADHD medication clinic.
The post benefits from 2.5PAs of structured professional activities, during which the post holder will contribute to service development, clinical governance and quality improvement, in addition to completing continuous professional development and pursuing other professional activities.
The post holder will work closely with all of the consultant psychiatrist colleagues, within River Team and the wider service.

Key Responsibilities:
1) Assessment and management of children and young people, and to provide psychiatric input for both routine and emergency clinical care.
2) Provide strong clinical leadership and vision, in collaboration with Pathway Lead, for the integrated NDP in Lambeth CAMHS.
3) Supervision of non-consultant medical staff. It is expected the post holder will be an accredited clinical supervisor, or will become so if not already
4) Attending and chairing clinical meetings and attendance at external meetings (e.g. DSR, SEN, tripartite as required) as timetabled.
5) Liaising and communicating with the MDT, other professionals, teams and agencies
6) Provision of consultation and advice to other CAMHS teams.
7) Participation in peer and group supervision meetings.
8) Participation in training of medical students, psychiatric residents and multidisciplinary staff.
9) Adherence to agreed job plan and appraisal procedures set by the Trust.
10) Maintain GMC registration, maintain a License to Practice and participate in CPD to remain in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
11) Maintain Section 12 and Approved Clinician approval. If the appointee is not Section 12 or AC approved, they will be expected to become so as soon as possible
12) Cover for colleagues is prospective.
13) Attend monthly Senior Management Team meetings as timetabled, and fulfil SMT member roles and responsibilities as a clinical leader.

Primary Medical Qualification
Evidence of post-graduate professional qualifications in psychiatry
Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
Evidence for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within six months of gaining CCT in C&A psychiatry
Section 12 approved
Approved Clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment
Experience in Outpatient/Community Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Experience in managing neurodevelopmental conditions (ASC ADHD) and intellectual disability
Experience of assessing and managing complex mental health co-morbidities
