About the role
Birchwood Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for a 4 session salaried GP to join our friendly, forward thinking practice team providing a high quality service to our 11,000 patients. We are a PMS practice located on the outskirts of Warrington. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated doctor with a strong commitment to good patient care and an ability to work as part of a well organised practice team. There are regular clinicians' meeting to provide peer support and to share best practice.
The post-holder's duties will include, but are not limited to: Face to face and telephone consultations & queries, online consultations, home visits, checking/signing repeat prescriptions & dealing with queries, paperwork & correspondence in a timely fashion Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health. Providing counselling & health education Referring to other care providers as appropriate Recording clear & contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards Collecting data for audit purposes & contributing to the practice audit programme as required Compiling & issuing computer-generated acute & repeat prescriptions in accordance with the accepted prescribing formulary Work to support PCN mandated working, making efficient use of the ARRS roles staff & supporting PCN development Take responsibility for, and have oversight of, some aspects of the clinical work within the practice team, e.g. co-ordinating aspects of governance, QOF, PCN work, enhanced services, CPD & keeping clinical protocols up to date Undertake all the normal duties & responsibilities of a GP subject to contractual variation
