Essential

Full GDC registration, Registered specialist in Dental Maxillofacial Radiology, CCST in Dental Maxillofacial Radiology or within 6 months of CCST.
oExperience / training such that the applicant has reached at least the standard considered equivalent to that expected after 4 years of specialist training in Dental Maxillofacial Radiology
oExtensive experience of CBCT reporting Ultrasound and interventional radiology
oAbility to independently perform CBCT reporting
oAbility to independently perform ultrasound investigations
Understanding of clinical governance and risk management in the secondary care setting
Management skills and effective leadership for the NHS environment and specifically clinical service delivery
Effective participation in audit including implementation of outcomes
Good IT skills
oExperience of organisation and clinical supervision of postgraduate and undergraduate teaching
oExperience of providing and training in the NHS
oAble to appraise the scientific literature critically.
oPresentations at national research meetings
oKnowledge of research ethics
Ability to communicate with clarity and intelligently in written and spoken English; ability to build rapport, listen, persuade/ negotiate.
Ability to take responsibility, lead, make decisions and exert appropriate authority.

Desirable

Higher academic degree related to Dental Maxillofacial Radiology, such as a MSc, PhD etc, One, or more of the following or equivalent qualifications: FDS RCS MFDS RCS
oExperience of leading a multidisciplinary team
oExperience in training under and post graduates in dental radiology
Worked with specialist in oral surgery and oral medicine in joint clinics managing Head and Neck cancer patients and patients with salivary gland diseases
Experience in leading UG or PG courses
Evidence of teaching courses and / or teaching qualifications
Experience in UG and PG examining relevant to Dental Maxillofacial Dentistry
Evidence of publications in refereed journals
