Phlebotomist - GP Surgery

Purbeck Health Centre is looking for an experienced and qualified Phlebotomist to join our friendly team, with an immediate start available. This is a key patient-facing role delivering safe, efficient blood clinics within a busy GP practice. You will work alongside our clinical team to provide a smooth, professional service and a positive experience for patients. 16 hours per week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 4 hours per day (between 8.00am 2.00pm) We are looking for someone who is confident, reliable and already competent in venepuncture. This is not a trainee role, so applicants must hold a recognised qualification and have practical experience in a healthcare setting. In return, you will join a supportive, well-run practice with a strong team ethos and a consistent working pattern.

You will run phlebotomy clinics, taking blood samples safely and efficiently while providing a calm and professional experience for patients. You will ensure all samples are correctly labelled, recorded and prepared for collection, maintaining high standards of accuracy at all times. You will work closely with the nursing and wider practice team, keeping communication clear and raising any concerns appropriately. You will follow infection control and safety procedures, including the correct handling and disposal of sharps and clinical waste.
