About the role
Role Introductiono The appointee will join a team of 6 existing consultants who currently deliver a mixture of general medicine with inpatient and outpatient diabetes and endocrine services for the Trust. Due to the changing dynamics of chronic disease management the structure of the consultant team is under continual review in order to facilitate an efficient interface between primary and secondary care and within the partnerships across UHN. The post specifically focuses on the diabetic and cardiovascular inpatient covering a ward of high acuity patients: Joint vascular and diabetic foot patents, aging population of T1DM, young aged T2DM and patients admitted with acute decompensated heart failure.
Core Responsibilities o The successful candidate will be expected to take on the lead for the ward hance the importance of in depth knowledge and experience in not only diabetesand general medicine but also in cardiology.o Lead on education and supervision of the junior ward doctors targeting an optimal GMC survey reviewo Lead and improve the MDT workings within the inpatient settingo Lead through QIPs on inpatient KPIso To ensure that patient experience and inpatient outcomes high standards are achieved and maintained
