About the role
Guide Post Medical Group is excited to announce the offer of a Salaried GP post at the practice. We are looking for 4-6 clinical sessions per week We have a list size of 8000 patients and have a consistently high QOF achievement. We are a democratic, friendly, mutually supportive, close-working team providing care to our semi-rural and urban population. We meet up regularly through the day, and workflow is excellently managed. Notes are summarised and the majority of correspondence is coded by our data team.
We are looking for 4-6 clinical sessions per week, with one or two dedicated home visit sessions per week. No visits are scheduled during or after sessions in surgery. Enhanced Access is provided, the sessions are shared between the GPs. We operate a 'usual doctor' system for continuity of patient care. A personal mentor is available and protected study leave with a practice commitment to continued professional development, including support to develop special interests.
We are a medium-sized, long established training practice, based in refurbished and modernised NHS Property Services premises in the village of Guidepost in south east Northumberland. We have 8000 patients catered by a multi-disciplinary team of four GP partners, plus three Salaried GPs, two Nurse Practitioners, one Physician Associate, three Practice Nurses, and four Health Care Assistants supported by a full, excellent administration team. We are a member of the Wansbeck Primary Care Network which consists of four local practices. Additional PCN staff, namely Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, First Contact Physiotherapists, Mental Health Practitioners, Health and Wellbeing Coaches and Community Link Workers are also based at the practice. The practice team is also supported by the locality's district nursing team, based at the practice, as well as clinics from midwives, podiatrists and dietitians. We have regular in-practice clinical meetings and a monthly whole team educational meeting.
