About the role
The Vascular Surgery Department provides a comprehensive elective and emergency service on an inpatient and day-case basis. The unit has 6 vascular consultant surgeons, and 6 middle grade doctors (Specialist Registrars/Clinical Fellows), and 3 F1 doctors.
The Department treats patients with arterial, venous and lymphatic disease including congenital vascular abnormalities. The Department is renowned for its distal arterial reconstruction service, especially in diabetic patients, as well as, the full range of vascular service including Aortic, carotid surgery and vascular access service.The diagnosis and management of all patients is provided on a multi-disciplinary basis by surgeons, radiologists, physicists and physicians with regular MDM weekly meetings. The vascular unit is a tertiary referral centre from the whole of the South East region.
