About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Clinical Fellow (FY3 Doctor equivalent) Locally Employed Doctor to join our friendly, enthusiastic team at Queens Hospital, Burton on Trent, University Hospitals Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB). The UHDB Haematology service currently provides care up to Level 2b (BCSH 2010), with plans for a shared care arrangement, repatriating autologous stem cell transplant patients at day +1, to be implemented in the near future. We are seeking afull time JCF / FY3 in Haematology. No Haematology experience required as full on the job training will be provided. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will work in collaboration with the existing consultant body, specialist registrar and training posts supported by nurse specialists to provide a comprehensive range of clinical and laboratory services for patients.

Haematology is an essential area of medicine and experience gained in this role will be invaluable for a career in medicine, general surgery and paediatrics.

Full GMC registration with a licence to practice at the time of application is essential along with at least 12 months of working within a UK setting (clinical attachments/shadowing not included)

Person specification

Essential

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
Basic Life Support certification
12 months experience working in the UK in NHS hospitals within the last 2 years (not including clinical attachments/observerships)
A minimum 2 years post qualification medical experience in the UK or abroad at the time of appointment start, including experience in Acute Medicine/ Medical specialities
Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice at time of application
All applicants to have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English that are adequate to enable highly effective communication
Applicant's knowledge is up to data and is safe to practice
Capacity to apply sound clinical knowledge relevant to the job
Able to prioritise clinical need and seek help when needed
