About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Breast team as a part time (8pa) Locum Consultant Breast Radiologist (symptomatic and screening) here at the Bristol Breast Screening Unit at Southmead Hospital. The post will cover all aspects of breast imaging, including the NHS BSP. This post is offered to suitably qualified, positive and patient-focused professionals who want to work in a dynamic, large and high performing Breast Cancer service. Bristol Breast Care Centre delivers both the screening and symptomatic services across 2 sites in Southmead and Weston General Hospitals as part of Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. Joining the team on a locum basis for 12 months you will have support from the clinical leads and director of screening to establish a set of meaningful objectives and a rewarding job plan. Our service is well managed to provide you with a rewarding role in a great clinical team. The work is varied and provides a unique opportunity to work in a bespoke breast care environment with dedicated provision at 2 sites giving you access to a stimulating and varied clinical environment.
The symptomatic breast work of the post will involve one-stop clinics and further assessment of the recalled patient . Participation at MDT meetings and the reporting of MRI and staging CT expected. Depending on the experience of the post holder, the role may also involve stereo core biopsies, MRI guided biopsies, CT angiography pre-reconstruction and ultrasound guided VAEs.
